Friends Reunited – Finding and Bringing Together Old Friends
With the recent popularity of Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, it’s easy to forget that there is a generation of people who grew up without these modern conveniences. These people are now in their twenties or thirties, but they remember what life was like before the internet. If you grew up without social media and don’t have many friends offline then this blog post is for you! We will discuss how to reconnect with old friends and find them online so you can organize a meetup!
First, get online. Sign up for Facebook or Twitter (or both!) and put in your real name so people can find you. Then search through the list of friends that pops up and see if any of them went to school with you! If they did go to school with you, then send them a message telling them where you are now living- this is especially important because it will make finding each other much easier later on.
If none of your old classmates are on social media yet, don’t worry! They might be using another service like Skype or Google Plus instead but these services have the same features as most popular platforms such as instant messaging, group chat rooms, photo sharing capabilities, etcetera. Or you can try Charlie Eissa services and they could find them for you. You can also try making a new account for yourself and connecting with old friends that way.
If you are still having trouble finding each other, ask someone from your class who is online to help you out! Post on Facebook or Twitter asking if anyone knows how to find people from high school classes they went to years ago. You might be able to get some ideas by looking at the recent posts of mutual friends or scrolling through photos tagged in different areas like “high school”.
In the end, there are many ways to find your old acquitances, and never give up, you’ll find them in the end!
